The Unions are disappointed by ESTA’s conduct over the past few weeks. It is obvious that they place a higher priority on their public image than improving your working conditions.
With regards to ESTA’s threatening correspondence regarding the protected industrial action (PIA) the Unions would like to reiterate all conduct to date has been lawful and will continue to be. Should ESTA have issues with the PIA the correct course of action would be to write to the bargaining representatives (your unions). To date, ESTA have not raised any concerns with us.
We resent ESTA’s scare mongering tactics; in particular threatening their own loyal employees to the police is disgraceful.
The unions reject ESTA’s interpretation of what confidential information constitutes. The protections are for the public, so that their information is kept confidential.
ESTA’s Performance data and standards are public information and available via annual reports.
We are aware that ESTA has commenced targetting individuals and this is simply unacceptable and unlawful. Every union member has the right to participate in PIA.
Should ESTA Management wish to speak to you about PIA do not meet with them unless you have your union delegate or official present. DO NOT ATTEND MEETINGS ALONE.
The Unions have not and will not release any information that could lead to the identification of union members participating in PIA.
The Unions remain committed to finalising this Agreement in the coming weeks. If ESTA spent as much time on progressing negotiations as intimidating their staff, negotiations would be far more productive.
The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 07 October 2015 and we hope to have some positive news to report back next week.
Stay Strong And United!
