VALE GARRY NEWBERY
One of our stalwart Postal Technical delegates, Garry Newbery passed away last Sunday. Gary had been in hospital for some time and spoke to many of us just days before his passing. He worked at Sydney Parcel Facility and represented members there for many years before his retirement . We do not have any funeral details at this stage.
NSW MEMBERS - IS YOUR BOSS WATCHING YOU AT WORK?
Your employer might be tracking your location, your speed, monitoring your computer, measuring your productivity or even using AI to make decisions about your work. Working from home shouldn't mean bringing workplace surveillance into your home.
Click here and complete our survey about workplace surveillance.
Workplace Surveillance and AI at Work Survey
NSW's laws governing workplace surveillance are more than 20 years old. The Workplace Surveillance Act was introduced in 2005 - before smartphones were everywhere, before working from home became normal, and long before AI was being used in workplaces. A lot has changed since then. But the law hasn't kept up.
We want to know what workplace surveillance actually looks like for workers today.
Have you ever felt like you were being watched at work? Has monitoring affected your privacy, your stress levels, your ability to take a break or the way you do your job? Tell us what's happening in your workplace.
It only takes a few minutes, and your response will help workers and unions make the case for stronger, modern laws that protect our privacy and give workers a say in how technology is used at work.
Thanks for your support. Katie - Unions NSW
