YOU'RE NEVER ALONE WHEN YOU'RE A UNION MEMBER

Our weekly Bulletin outlines many issues. But our main work we do is with individual members in private. For example bullying, performance issues, wage theft, and classification. For example, we recently we assisted a retired member collect unpaid superannuation from Telstra prior to 2019. Almost invariably, these individual matters are settled "on terms that cannot be disclosed". So we cannot report all our wins..

POST EBA PROGRESS

Agreement has been reached, in-principle, on EBA11.
A proposed new EBA11 would, subject to member approval, lock-in the following key outcomes.

  • 4% pa over 3 years. The compounding effect, payable in Sept each year, will deliver 12.5%
  • 4% increase to all EBA allowances, each year.
  • No Trade Offs.
  • 15% postie delivery payment will be protected
  • Quicker paths to full-time employment -
  • Removal of the once-per-year restriction on excess annual leave cash-outs.
  • Handing up the Delegates Charter to the Fair Work Commission
As part of the overall package, CWU and Post will continue working together to explore workplace flexibility options to enable a sustainable future workforce that continues to support the rapidly changing needs of Post's customers, and to reach resolution on non-core matters which CWU members told us were important to them, including:
  • Increasing the per km rate for members who use their private vehicles for work-related purposes;
  • Allowing medical certificates from pharmacies to certify personal leave applications; and
  • Clarification of regular single-day higher duties.
Additionally, Post has agreed to establish a number of joint CWU / Management reviews of key processes including payroll, employee discipline and how superannuation is paid on workers compensation. Importantly, Australia Post has provided undertakings to place reasonable timeframes on these review processes to ensure their resolution does not delay the overall EBA11 approval process and payment of the associated wage outcomes.

    TELSTRA EBA

We have recommended a NO vote. The ballot closes on 10 July. We should know the result that night.

    TZV EBA

Work continues on the draft EBA to complete the clauses. Watch for a joint Union Bulletin.
