TELSTRA 000 SURPRISE SALARY INCREASES
Members in Job Family are reporting that they have been advised of big pay rises 10%+ and 11%+.
This is well above the 4% guaranteed for Workstream and 3% guaranteed for Job Family.
The ratings do not matter this year we will check.
Pay rises from the EBA are due from 1 October. Telstra has 2 job streams (Workstream and Job Family).
Telstra000 Workstream salaries are guaranteed pay rates. Job Family salaries are not guaranteed beyond the minimum rates.
TELSTRA 000 SURPRISE SALARY INCREASES - WHY
The guaranteed salary for Workstream workers CSSW L1 is $67,176 from 1 Oct.
The guaranteed minimum for Job Family Cust Support 4ii is $58,600 from 1 Oct.
Based on member feedback - the new salary for Job Family is $65,339 from 1 Oct. (irrespective of your rating)
How does the new Labor legislation Same Job Same Pay affect you and Agency staff?
How can Telstra punish you for life with a rating 1 or 2 in one year by freezing your salary?
We will follow up to find out the reason for the change. And how lifetime penalties can be justified.
Let us know what salary you are being offered we will keep your information confidential.
TELSTRA TRIPLE ZERO SURVEY OHS
We are circulating a survey of Telstra000 workers to determine your attitude to some OHS issues, including mouse v keyboard answering. The responses will be confidential. If you have not received a survey form, please reply to this Bulletin with a request.
NOKIA DISPUTE MONTHLY PAY
Our dispute with Nokia about the change to monthly pay has been lodged in the Fair Work Commission. We have been advised that a Conciliation Conference was set for Thursday 19 Sept. (This is changing). We are seeking a return to fortnightly pay. This applies to all staff covered by the Award. Watch for our reports and next weeks Bulletin.
NBN EBA
This week members received a Notice of Employee Representation Rights.
This is a requirement of the Fair Work Act when bargaining is to commence. Our union is automatically your bargaining agent but you can appoint yourself or your own.
NBN will be keen to get a new EBA to fix up their overtime problems (lower the cost).
Our Branch will watch the overtime issues particularly.
This will not stop us from seeking payment now for start of day, call out etc, and from seeking backpay for 6 years.
Our Branch is putting that case together.
This is the high water mark when it comes to organising. Your next pay rise will be determined by the strength that we have when negotiating your new terms and conditions.
After very low pay rises during the high inflation over the past 2 years, members deserve catch up and more!
If negotiations break down, then the avenue for protected industrial action is opened.
VALE COLIN COOPER
This week Prime Minister Anthony Albanese spoke at a function held to pay tributes to Col Cooper, a most significant figure in the History of our Branch. We have collected some tributes for a web Page.

SERIOUS LONG SERVICE
We often see the retirement of members with long service. So we thought, in future, some recognition is nice. This week:
Our member, Bob Dziminski - Operations Specialist Airservices Australia retired after 51yrs in Telstra. Congratulations Bob and we wish you a long and healthy retirement.
