POST CHANGES SYDNEY

Post have advised of a re-organisation moving Botany technical staff (BOTPDC) under SPF. This has been suggested for some time and staff appear to agree to the change. There will be a handover period, and the final date for this transition will be 15th December.

NBN EBA

We met again this week to progress the new BA. Several claims were discussed. Debate continues over many items including Storage Allowances, On Call and overtime interaction, allowances for first aid nominees, Wardens etc, SOD EOD and On Call issues. The negotiations continue.

OPTUS EBA

We held our first meeting with Optus to negotiate a new EBA. The talks were preliminary and further meetings are planned. The nominal expiry date of the current EBA is 30 March 2025.

TELSTRA SUPER MERGER

The Boards of both funds have now signed a binding Heads of Agreement to proceed with a 'merger of equals' between the two funds. The combined fund will manage over $60 billion in assets and serve more than 225,000 members. Until the successor fund transfer is finalizedexpected in late 2025TelstraSuper and Equip Super will continue to operate independently.

TELSTRA DRIVER SAFETY REALLY?

A new policy is circulating setting out the "Behaviour Offence Description" and action to be taken. One offence is: " Failure to follow process for inspections wheel nuts, vehicle checklist, etc" and "Failure to service vehicle". WE have written to HR seeking some information on this and will follow up.
