SUPPORT STAFF TZV EBA - LOG OF CLAIMS

We are about to commence negotiations for the new EBA for support staff. We seek your feedback for our log of claims. We will refer your feedback to our EBA Committee and we will draft a log from the feedback. Once completed we will publish it for your approval. Please send your contribution via email.

SUPPORT STAFF TZV EBA UNION REPRESENTATIVES

We have started to establish a Committee of Support members to assist us in negotiating the new EBA. Will your work area or work role be represented? Please think about a representative for your area, or volunteer yourself. This is critical in some areas as the EBA may be determining structures and related matters. Just reply to me via email.

NBN EBA NEGOTIATIONS

We made significant progress this week but have not reached agreement. NBN moved on wages, but not to the level expected by members for the first year (at least). The significant moves were
- 4% annual increases from July 2025, July 2026, and July 2027 (up from the original 3.4% offer for the third year).
- Meal allowance increased to $25 (up from the current $22.11).
We still have some concerns with Clauses 18 and 19, and we are meeting again next week to discuss these.

We have seen emails from NBN re an agreement in principle with the Union. They also refer to arrangements for a ballot in the near future.
Other Branches of CEPU say in a Bulletin last Friday that the offer, together with a few other amendments, represents a fair and reasonable outcome in line with member expectations for the next three years. Members may disagree!
While we note that the offer may be difficult to improve (as in all EBA negotiations), it is very difficult to press for further improvements without support from other Branches. Certainly, it would improve bargaining power if staff voted the EBA down. However as all staff vote in an EBA election, it is certainly possible that the EBA will be voted up. We are open to and seek your comments.

TELSTRA ACCENTURE JOINT VENTURE

We met again to discuss the proposed Joint Venture (JV). We now understand the proposal and can brief members independently. We can arrange a Zoom hook-up if that is desirable.
The scheme is clear but must be backed up with documentation. Telstra wishes to move all relevant staff to a new employer. If you do not wish to transfer, then Telstra will offer redundancy as no role will exist within Telstra.
If you transfer, certain laws known as ""transfer of business" will apply. These offer a good level of protection". But there are qualifications. We are qualified to give advice on this. The JV is planned to run for 7 years. Then you will be guaranteed a return to Telstra. We need to review documentation on this matter when it is created by Telstra.
