TZV EBA SUPPORT STRUCTURE SERIOUSLY DELAYED

We met with TZV on Tuesday to discuss the expected progress of the EBA talks. It was not good news from TZV.
Apart from salary, the new structure is the most important part of the new EBA. This will have new salaries, increments and rules replacing the current host of dubious rules.
The Vic Government has insisted that the new structure be costed before submission to the Union. TZV expects the Government to take 6 weeks to cost the proposed structure. TZV expects to submit the structure to Govt within 2 weeks. We are unlikely to simply agree to the structure and more negotiations will be needed. We are also negotiating other clauses arising from our Log of Claims.
The bottom line- If the Govt and TZV adhere to that timeline, then we cannot see a vote for the EBA before Xmas.

TZV SUPPORT EBA - WHERE TO NOW

We are meeting with our CWU delegates on Monday 15 Sept to discuss these developments. Negotiations on other clauses are set for Tuesday. We have made some progress on other clauses. We will report on this next week.
The nominal expiry date of the Agreement is 30 June 2025 it has expired but remains in force until replaced. Your next pay rise is due on 28 Dec 2025
This above will require new demands from CWU and include
- that the pay rise be effective from 28 December notwithstanding the date of approval of the Agreement
- No loss of pay will arise from the new structure (not worse off)
- Grandfathered pay will also increase each year in line with the general increases
- That any performance pay be additional to the general pay increases
